I guess I am a little confused as to how this works out. Say I weigh 200 lbs, and I eat 1000 lbs worth of food. But then I ‘expel’ one hundred pounds of poo? Where does the rest of the matter go? Do I now weigh 1100 pounds?
So I eat 36000 pounds of food and only 16% of it gets expelled?
It will get broken down. Turned into fat or expelled as energy.
All that mass that you take in eventually gets expelled.
Feces
Urine
Sweat
Water in breath
Carbon in breath
Hair, nails, skin flakes
The mass equivalent of energy is insignificant. Take all those millions of calories and divide by the speed of light squared and you will see what I mean.
Wow I can’t believe I just look through all that info and now I’m fairly depressed. Thanks!
