Untitled2 150x150R2-D2 (phonetically spelled Artoo-Detoo, and called “Artoo” for short), is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. An astromech droid, R2-D2 is a major character throughout all six Star Wars films. He joins or supports Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader), Obi-Wan Kenobi (portrayed by Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor), and R2-D2′s droid companion C-3PO (played by Anthony Daniels) in various points in the saga. R2-D2 was played by Kenny Baker. The original R2-D2 was designed by John Stears and specially created by Australian firm Petric Engineering and English firm C&L Developments. Many scenes also made use of radio controlled and CGI versions of the character. Both the original props of R2-D2 and C-3PO used in filming are used as audio-animatronics in the queue area of Disneyland’s Star Tours ride.

Star Wars Subway Ticket Origami

These pictures show star wars ships made from Parisian Subway tickets. The only materials used are the 30 by 65 mm. Tickets. The artist, Hubert de Lartigue has a large collection of these origami ships, which is quite impressive. One of them is help in the hand to emphasize the size. All this is done without using any extra paint. The strip on the ticket is cleverly used to make the ships look neat.

In the pictures, you will also see the two tools used to get the whole collection done. The artist has made 4 types of ships and the sets of each type look surprisingly alike. The artist has also given a tutorial for those who wish to build the X wing and the Falcon. This can be a great project for origami enthusiasts and there’s nothing more satisfying than a completed project.
