Car Repaired With Duck Tape

Duct tape, or duck tape, is cloth- or scrim-backed pressure sensitive tape often coated with polyethylene. There are a variety of constructions using different backings and adhesives. One variation is gaffer tape designed to be cleanly removed, while duct tape is not. Another variation is heat-resistant duct tape useful for sealing heating and ventilation (HVAC) ducts, produced because standard duct tape fails quickly when used on heating ducts. Duct tape is generally gray or black but also available in other colors.

In 1942 Revolite, then a division of Johnson & Johnson, originally developed an adhesive tape made from a rubber-based adhesive applied to a durable duck cloth backing. This tape resisted water and was used as sealing tape on ammunition cases during World War II.

The first material called “duck tape” was long strips of plain cotton duck cloth used in making shoes stronger, for decoration on clothing, and for wrapping steel cables or electrical conductors to protect them from corrosion or wear. For instance, in 1902, steel cables supporting the Brooklyn Bridge were first covered in linseed oil then wrapped in duck tape before being laid in place. In the 1910s, certain boots and shoes used canvas duck fabric for the upper or for the insole, and duck tape was sometimes sewn in for reinforcement. In 1936, the US-based Insulated Power Cables Engineers Association specified a wrapping of duck tape as one of many methods used to protect rubber-insulated power cables. In 1942, Gimbel’s department store offered venetian blinds that were held together with vertical strips of duck tape. All of these uses were for plain cotton or linen tape that came without a layer of applied adhesive.

Crazy Inventions For Your Kitchen

An invention is a novel composition, device, or process. An invention may be derived from a pre-existing model or idea, or it could be independently conceived, in which case it may be a radical breakthrough. In addition, there is cultural invention, which is an innovative set of useful social behaviors adopted by people and passed on to others. Inventions often extend the boundaries of human knowledge or experience. An invention that is novel and not obvious to others skilled in the same field may be able to obtain the legal protection of a patent. Through the time there has been lots of inventions that make our lives easier. Invention is a creative process. An open and curious mind allows an inventor to see beyond what is known. Seeing a new possibility, connection, or relationship can spark an invention. Inventive thinking frequently involves combining concepts or elements from different realms that would not normally be put together. Sometimes inventors disregard the boundaries between distinctly separate territories or fields. Play can lead to invention. Childhood curiosity, experimentation, and imagination can develop one’s play instinct—an inner need according to Carl Jung. Inventors feel the need to play with things that interest them, and to explore, and this internal drive brings about novel creations. Thomas Edison said, “I never did a day’s work in my life, it was all fun”. Inventing can also be an obsession.

Wacky Army Pictures

An army (from Latin arma “arms, weapons” via Old French armée, “armed” (feminine)), in the broadest sense, is the land-based military of a nation or state. It may also include other branches of the military such as the air force via means of aviation corps. Within a national military force, the word army may also mean a field army an army composed of full-time career soldiers who ‘stand over’, in other words, who do not disband during times of peace. They differ from army reserves who are activated only during such times as war or natural disasters.
In several countries the army is officially called the land army to differentiate it from an air force called the air army, notably France. In such countries, the word “army” on its own retains its connotation of a land force in common usage. The current largest army in the world, by number of active troops, is the People’s Liberation Army of China with 2,250,000 active troops and 800,000 reserve personnel followed by the Indian Army with 1,325,000 active troops and 2,142,821 reserve personnel.
By definition, irregular military is understood in contrast to regular armies which grew slowly from personal bodyguards or elite militia.

Weird Wacky And Unexplainable Black & White Photos

Photography is the art, science, and practice of creating pictures by recordingradiation on a radiation-sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or electronic image sensors. Photography uses foremost radiation in the UV, visible and near-IRspectrum. For common purposes the term light is used instead of radiation. Light reflected or emitted from objects form a real image on a light sensitive area (film orplate) or a FPA pixel array sensor by means of a pin hole or lens in a camera during a timed exposure. The result on film or plate is a latent image, which is developed into a visual image (negative or diapositive). An image on a paper base is known as a print. The result on an FPA pixel array sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel which iselectronically processed and stored in a computer (raster)-image file for subsequent display or processing. Photography has many uses for business, science, manufacturing (f.i. Photolithography), art, and recreational purposes.
As far as can be ascertained, it was Sir John Herschel in a lecture before the Royal Society of London, on March 14, 1839 who made the word “photography” known to the world. But in an article published on February 25 of the same year in a German newspaper called the Vossische Zeitung, Johann von Maedler, a Berlin astronomer, had used the word photography already. The word photography is based on the Greek φῶς (photos) “light” and γραφή(graphé) “representation by means of lines” or “drawing”, together meaning “drawing with light”.

Strange Wacky And Cool Shower Curtains

A shower (or shower-bath, walk-in shower, steam shower) is an area in which one bathes underneath a spray of water. The original showers were neither indoor structures nor man-made, but were common natural formations: waterfalls. The falling water rinsed the bathers completely clean and was more efficient than bathing in a traditional basin, which required manual transport of both fresh and waste water. Ancient man began to reproduce these natural phenomena by pouring jugs of water, often very cold, over themselves after washing. There has been evidence of early upper class Egyptian and Mesopotamians having indoor shower rooms where servants would bathe them in the privacy of their own homes. However, these were a far cry from modern shower facilities; they had only rudimentary drainage systems and water was carried, not pumped, into the room.

The first group of people to have showers that would be recognizable to a modern person were the ancient Greeks.

The State of Unemployment
Via: UniXL

Employment is a contract between two parties, one being the employer and the other being the employee. An employee may be defined as: “A person in the service of another under any contract of hire, express or implied, oral or written, where the employer has the power or right to control and direct the employee in the material details of how the work is to be performed.” Black’s Law Dictionary page 471 (5th ed. 1979).

In a commercial setting, the employer conceives of a productive activity, generally with the intention of generating a profit, and the employee contributes labour to the enterprise, usually in return for payment of wages. Employment also exists in the public, non-profit and household sectors.

However, this is not the case with this game, as it involves five simple steps to play. The first step involves choosing a character that suits you or resembles your face or personality. Thereafter, you need to record a tune, which can be a simple greeting or a few lines from your favorite song and the next step is to invite your friends for playing the game by sending them a short message via different social networking sites.

You can even share your performance in the game by using social networking websites. If you see all these things in a systematic manner, then the result would be that the character chosen by you sings as well as dances on the short tune recorded by you, which is overwhelming. Celebrity parents of the year! Really?

In this celebrity-obsessed, technology-driven world, it seems that never a week goes by without another example of celebrity parents behaving badly, with the whole episode spreading like wildfire for all to see across the Internet on Twitter and celebrity blogs. Let’s face it, bad parenting is nothing new, but it seems to have gained a certain notoriety of late, with celebrities thinking nothing of bad-mouthing their kids, dangling them out of windows, and indulging in narcotics in their presence! For most “normal” mum’s, bad parenting is simply a case of leaving the house without their lipstick on, but for some household names it’s quite a worrying phenomenon.

The first bad parent who springs to mind is Britney Spears – who can forget the images of her driving her kid around with no seat belt on, the naked crotch pics, the hair shaving and general wild-child lifestyle, irrespective of the fact that she had two kids to look after!

Thankfully Britney seems to have done a u-turn quite literally and has turned her life around for the sake of the kids.

Another notorious example of bad celebrity parenting has to be Kate Moss – how can we forget the drinking whilst pregnant, the crazy boyfriend, the drug taking allegations and non-stop partying, they will probably have their baby sniffing nail polish. Let’s hope Kate has taken a leaf out of Britney’s book and put all of this behind her!

Two celebrity dads who should hang their heads in shame are David Hasselhoff and Alec Baldwin, both of whom highly embarrassed their respective off spring recently with decidedly un-dad like behaviour. Hasselhoff’s own daughter took a video of her shirtless dad when he was totally wasted. In the video, Hasselhoff is TRYING to eat a hamburger while his daughter tells him that he cannot drink any more alcohol! Needless to say this video did the rounds on the internet.

In Alec Baldwin’s case, he left an abusive message to his 11-year-old daughter, in which he called her a “thoughtless little pig”. In the voice message that somehow was leaked to the media, he says: “I don’t give a damn that you’re 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or that you are a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn’t care about what you do as far as I am concerned.” Charming!

Closer to home we also have the delightful Kerry Katona, who inflicted her drug-taking new husband Mark Croft on her two kids by ex husband Brian McFadden. Despite a debauched and narcotic fuelled lifestyle, she went on to have two more kids by Croft (and continued to smoke whilst pregnant). Tabloid allegations regarding their antics made headline news, but since then Kerry seems to have put the worst behind her and moved on with the help of Peter Andre’s management team and another divorce. Let’s hope so – for the kids’ sake!

Two more legendary but dubious parents come in the form of Michael Jackson and Ozzy Osbourne.  No-one can forget the images of the late Michael Jackson dangling his baby over the balcony in a completely mis-judged PR stunt.

And as for the Osbournes – well what a bunch of mixed up, therapy-needing, drug-addicted kids did they produce!? Kelly and Jack Osbourne’s troubles have been well-documented in the media. Their other child, Aimee, seems to have avoided such intense scrutiny and, perhaps as a result, the issues that go with it. Maybe because she saw sense and refused to appear in the fly on the wall documentary “The Osbournes”,  a series featuring the domestic life of the family, which became MTV’s biggest hit to date.

Perhaps this all just goes to show that money certainly can’t buy you love, happiness or good parents!

Robocops Son

Timmy was a little boy like all the other little boys in his neighborhood. Until one fatidic day, when his mom was out, and his babysitter was too busy working out her…new dance routine in front of the camera to post on Youtube.

The boy saw a great man on TV, part robot part man. Watching him fight crime and checking out all his guns, Timmy got so excited that he asked his mom to get him a Halloween costume just like that.

Once he put it on this suit, he never wanted to take it off. One day, to his mother despair, he ran away from home and wondered the big city streets in search for crime. Luckily, the life is not like in the movies, and he was latter on escorted by police back to his house.

The moment of Robocop has pass through. But this week Timmy saw an episode of Inter-Galactica. Now he is in the search for a space ship.

Water to ice in 90 seconds using vacuum

This video will demonstrate how to make ice by boiling water using an Edwards vacuum pump in 90 seconds. Liquid boils when the vapour pressure of the liquid is equal to the pressure exerted on it. When pressure on a liquid is reduced the vapour pressure is also reduced and the boiling point drops. See our demonstration or visit _www.edwardsvacuum.com to find out how vacuum works.
